Whether you work in a group or a team, the ability to relate well to colleagues at all levels is essential. For many, our Team Agility programme is the right solution, building team skills without the need to take time away from the workplace.
For others, though, there is the need for either a team building or team development programme. So what’s the difference between the two?
In brief, teambuilding is a one-off programme designed to help a work team explore how they can work together more effectively. The programme will involve team activity (either indoor or outdoor) and through skilful facilitation will help the team develop effective working relationships and practices.
A team development programme is a longer term process. Its focus is on team process and performance. It may well involve an off-site event to start the process, but doesn’t necessarily have to. However, it will need skilful facilitation. Team members will need to be very committed to the process, as levels of challenge and feedback will generally increase as the team develops. It may be uncomfortable for a while, but most will see the benefits of this as specific, performance related development plans are agreed that will move the business forward.
We will design your team building or team development programme to fit your team’s needs, in the context of your organisation’s objectives, whatever your operational structures.
